Surfing in Kaikoura
Kaikoura is one of the best spots in the south island. The waves were HUGE. On the biggest day The waves were 8 ft on the face of the wave. We had some friends that came with us on our holiday. It is time to go surfing. The drive to the surf spot is 15 minutes and I always get nervous worrying about if the surf is going to be too big or too small. I am crossing my fingers. When we get there the surf is so nice and clean the waves are perfect. Paddling out looks easy the first big wave of the day is coming dad don't you dear this is mine I am paddling so hard to get on the wave. I am on it. The wave is pearling. I am waiting for the barrel but it doesn't come dammit the next minute dad catches the best wave yet the barrel is coming I scream tuc in. Wipe out you good. Yip. Here comes another wave I paddle as hard as I can. I am on the wave. It looks like the barrel is coming. I tuck in and make it out . That was sick.
